A new book from Northrop Grumman about the people and innovation that created the U.S. Air Force’s B-2 stealth bomber, one of the nation’s most powerful, most survivable – and most valued aircraft.
Written by political analyst and bomber warfare expert Rebecca Grant, the book is based on interviews with current and former Northrop Grumman, U.S. Air Force and Pentagon officials. It traces the political and engineering passions that fueled the competition to produce a bomber that could defeat increasingly sophisticated Soviet air defense systems of the early ‘80s. This is Grant’s second book about the B-2, following “The B-2 Goes to War,” published in 2001.
“The B-2 was and is unique, a success born out of necessity, and facilitated by a dedicated, capable government-contractor team – a stepping stone to a next generation of air dominance.” – Rebecca Grant
